Running returns to Horsfall: but consistent with the lockdown regulations you should only run in socially-distanced pairs as part of your once-a-day exercise. However, we do encourage you to meet your pair at the Cemetery Road stadium gates and go for a run from there.
When the current lockdown ends, we will return to sessions on the track within the stadium on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7pm till 9pm, as in the past.
Also please consult our members-only Facebook page.
Two main things to note:
1) The track itself has been thoroughly cleaned, for the first time in decades, with thanks to Horsfall stadium. You will see lots of other work having taken place there in the past 6-9 months: a new artificial pitch, a new memorial garden (almost complete), and improvements all round since the stadium has taken over the lease from the city council.
2) With the covid situation, it is important (a) to register with the head coach when you arrive, for track-and-trace purposes; (b) that you follow the covid protocols, which are based on our guidelines for Tier 3 by England Athletics, and written in conjunction with the safety officer at Horsfall.
Also, a reminder that annual subscriptions were due at the beginning of April. As announced previously, senior subs are £25, juniors £20 but, as the competition situation is still unsure and money is tight for many people, the club has said that, this year, we will re-register you for £15, if you cannot afford the regular rate.
